In Southern California, a school district recently fired a teacher for her unwillingness to uphold its gender policies. In tonight's In-Depth Report, Church Militant's Kim Tisor shows us what happens when you're in the trans agenda's crosshairs.

Jessica Tapia, fired teacher: "It was crazy to be in the position where I realized that I couldn't be a Christian and a teacher."

Jessica Tapia was a high school physical education teacher in the Jurupa Unified School District near Riverside. She was flagged last summer after students scoured her personal social media posts and discovered she didn't support gender ideology. They complained to school administrators.

Tapia: "I believe firmly that God created man and woman, and, you know, you are who He made you to be. When someone has confusion about that, I believe that's lies and confusion from the devil and I don't believe it's something I should be affirming."

The district ultimately investigated Tapia, who refused to lie to parents about kids undergoing gender transition, or to let male genitalia into the girls' locker room.

Tapia: "How is that safe? Where do we draw the line?"

She was fired two weeks ago for standing her ground.

It appears public schools across the country favor teachers who comply with woke policies. Weekly there are reports of schools pushing porn and gay pride without parental consent.

Alvin Lui, parent and activist: "Through changing the culture of the schools and changing the way children think about race themselves, America, their values ... ."

While schools promote perversion, teens quietly suffer. According to a Centers for Disease Control & Prevention report released just this week, adolescents' mental health is on the decline.

Dr. Debra Houry, acting deputy director, CDC: "Over the past decade, teens, especially girls, have experienced dramatic increases in experiences of violence and poor mental health and suicide risk."

The CDC states 22% of teens who identify as LGBT have attempted suicide in the past year. Previous studies show that number for just so-called transsexual students is as high as 50%.

Tapia had a stellar record, declaring a parent had never lodged a complaint against her. She entered teaching to make a difference, especially in the lives of children who, like her, had a rough childhood.

Tapia: "I thought, you know, how amazing it would be to be, you know, a light to them. It was just so exciting to get to work in a field where it was just way beyond a paycheck."

According to the conservative political blog Red State, Tapia intends to sue the school district. Pacific Justice Institute, a legal group specializing in the defense of religious freedom, will represent her.
