A group of doctors claims Americans are being deceived about coronavirus.

A video shared by Breitbart on Monday shows a press conference on Capitol Hill by America's Frontline Doctors — a group challenging the mainstream narrative on COVID-19.

In just eight hours, the Facebook video racked up more than 17 million views.

Doctor Simone Gold suggested there are thousands of physicians around the country who share their perspective.

Gold: "Americans are riveted and captured by fear at the moment. We are not held down by the virus as much as we are being held down by this spiderweb of fear."

Facebook, YouTube and Twitter all censored the video the same day it was posted, claiming it shared false information about the virus. But the tech giants didn't specify which claims were deemed false.

After that, website hosting company SquareSpace shut down the group's website on Tuesday.

Another doctor, Stella Immanuel, trumpeted hydroxychloroquine, an experimental treatment for the virus.

Immanuel: "And the result has been the same. I put them on hydroxychloroquine, I put them on zinc, I put them on Zithromax, and they are all well."

Opponents on social media are calling Immanuel a "fraud" — one of their arguments, her involvement in Christian ministry.

President Trump has been optimistic about hydroxychloroquine — already used to treat malaria and lupus. But mainstream media slammed him as "unscientific."

Bob Hamilton, a pediatrician from Santa Monica, California, spoke in favor of reopening schools in the fall.

Doctor Dan Erickson from Bakersfield, California argued mandatory lockdown orders have unleashed a health crisis of their own.

Erickson: "Our suicide hotlines are up 600%. Our spousal abuse, different areas of alcoholism are all on the rise."

When it comes to the COVID crisis, social media giants are again deciding what counts as authentic science.
