The archdiocese of Atlanta is again hosting an upcoming pro-LGBT retreat. Church Militant's Joe Gallagher tells us that despite getting a new archbishop in 2020, sodomy still gets top billing in the archdiocese.

Abp. Gregory Hartmayer: "Pope Francis chose me to serve the Church of Atlanta."

Archbishop Gregory Hartmayer is again hosting a pro-LGBT retreat at the archdiocesan chancery on March 6. Fortunate and Faithful Families, an organization supporting sodomy and so-called transgenderism in children, among other things, has had Hartmayers' support since his installment in 2020.

It's not the only anti-Catholic organization he supports. In 2017, while he was bishop of Savannah, Georgia, Hartmayer was the retreat leader for the dissident group the Association of U.S. Catholic Priests — the AUSCP

Michael Hichborn, president, the Lepanto Institute: "The AUSCP was heavily involved in the promotion of women's ordination, wants priestless parishes and has continued to give venue to condemned LGBT organizations."

So Hartmayer's involvement in the March 6 LGBT retreat is no big surprise.

Atlanta's previous archbishop, now cardinal Wilton Gregory of Washington, D.C., also supported both Fortunate and Faithful Families and the AUSCP. The cardinal even allowed Atlanta's Shrine of the Immaculate Conception to advertise a Catholic presence at Atlanta's Pride Parade.

Hichborn: "Any institution that's going to affirm somebody in their sin is causing grave scandal and doing a great deal of moral and spiritual harm to the people they purport to help."

With bishops and priests supporting sodomy and transgenderism, people searching for a way out of same-sex attraction and gender identity disorder currently have little help from people inside the Church.

For decades, the archdiocese of Atlanta has been a homo-clerical hotbed. The notorious Cdl. Joseph Bernardin got his episcopal start there, being named auxiliary bishops in 1966. He went on to consecrate Cdl. Wilton Gregory as his own auxiliary bishop in Chicago in 1983.
